Contemporary... Apparently playing heavy metal during a show isn't contemporary, talk about current political situations does not cover local interest.

I'm sorry, I must have been confused... is this not a California based radio station? Or... did I miss the memo about California seceding from the United States? Should I stop paying federal income tax?

I'm bit confused about this explanation. I'm confused because it sounds like a bunch of garbled trash ment to placate listeners. Why don't they just admit that they're bowing to the wishes of leftist activist groups? The site savagestupidity, whose title is, itself, an oxymoron as Dr. Savage is profoundly intelligent, sent this station, and probably others, a petition to remove Dr. Savage from its lineup. Don't insult us by feeding us lies about your reasons for dropping the Savage Nation from your station. We already know why you did it. We, just like parents, just want to hear you admit what you did. We know that leftist groups leaned on the station, and we can see that the station gave in to those same groups. Asking why you dropped Dr Savage is, in all actuality, a rhetorical question. We're only asking that you own up to your actions, and release a truthful statement.
Regardless of your decision, I shall continue to follow Dr. Savage's program on what ever medium I can find it. I shall be advising others to do the same. It is my most sincere wish that I can bring enough listeners away to negatively affect your advertising income.

When are you going to bring Michael Savage back? Your relenting to special interests has surprised me. Your other hosts are OK, but not good enough to listen to when I can tune in Savage on the internet. Savage was what brought me and my friends over from 560 AM. Since Savage left, we are back at 560 AM except for the Savage time slot. 560 AM has the best, bar none morning show and I just hang in there until Savage is on.

It's just that KNEW is somehow connected to KFI in LA; hence the Bill Handel and John and Ken. It's all money. They can probably get the new lineup a much discounted rate. Too bad for Savage, but he does always bounce back.

So the problem is that I am closed minded? The fact is that my values govern my beliefs and I am not easily "glamoured" by empty promises. I do not accept an ounce of guilt for the shortcomings of others, and I certainly have plenty of my own. I assume you are implying that Savage makes numerous apologies and inaccurate statements? I won’t pretend to speak for Dr. Savage, but who doesn't apologize and make mistakes? Thanks for keeping this post alive; now back to Savage on KSTE!

You're right on the money........Jack has brought the show down quite a bit the last couple of years. The show used to be more varied, thought-provoking with more in-depth political analysis, but now it can be more like the Jerry Springer show and sometimes they'll take a completely "dead horse" and beat it into hamburger. I find myself tuning out more often than not lately, and even my wife, who was a devoted fan, rolls her eyes in disgust as she changes the channel on a regular basis. Lee Rodgers on KSFO is more often our early morning listening than A & G. Since I live in the foothills, KSFO reception was marginal until I purchased a CCrane passive booster antenna. This might be a good strategy for you listeners in the Bay Area to be able to bring in KSTE 650 AM more clearly.

OK, Mr Station master, you say "you're listening", huh, so I wonder why you pulled down my comment from yesterday, the one that used no profanity or offensive language of any kind and that called nobody any names, but maybe was it the way I re-arranged your station call letters that got your underwear in a wad? I see that a comment on this blog that called Savage an "ugly son of a bitch" is still there, and another thing, I support that this comment SHOULD be there, because I happen to believe, unlike you, in free speech. No wonder you want Savage off the air, you only believe in the kind of speech that satisfies your PC opinions and I guess John and Ken don't offend your dainty sensibilities, so good luck with that decision. I don't hate J & K, they're probably nice guys, I just think that their show is plodding, predictable and boring.

Maybe instead of hiding your head in the sand, you really should LISTEN to the comments posted on this blog.......

ok tried to listed to Ken & John on several occasions since Dr Savage was canceled on KNEW, but they are so boring and predicable. I can't do it, is not stimulating and mostly they cover everytihng that other shows cover.

So KNEW you have nothing new, I have removed 910 from my dial.

until you get some real talent in the afternoon, there is no reason to listen. Sad, I have been a loyal listener for years and was proud of KNEW since SF is the home town.

I Live in Marin county and now have to listen to radio outside of my hometown.

maybe you will figure it out again someday...

Do you actually pay someone to make a decision like 'getting rid of Savage'? And the sophomoric, giggling duo, you replaced him with wouldn't have attracted me when I was in high school, or grammar school.
Armstrong and Getty, with their silliness, aren't far behind. I used to bounce back and forth between KSFO and your station. But, no longer. They seem to be focused on entertaining each other, to the point of irritation.
I can't imagine who in the hell you are trying attract with your 'revamped lineup', but kids still riding bicycles will doubtfully impress sponsorship.
You have lost not only me, but all I know who listened to your station because of Savage, and that is quite a list, to be honest.

Their website has the podcast, but you have to pay for access. Good quality audio and no commercials and also you can listen to the live stream with a paid subscription.

Gave John and Ken a chance....they just don't grab me. Besides I liked having a different show on my afternoon drive, which Savage was. I don't want to listen to some A&G imitations that focus on LA. I'll be tuning to 650 for my drive home, reception is better than 910 in the Pleasanton/Dublin area anyways.

This isn't the best programing decision I've seen in my 25 years of listening to the various AM radio talk shows out there. I began listening to Savage shortly after he began his career as a local talk show host on KSFO in SF and was hooked immediately. He had a fresh style, and his manner of presenting his show format was impressive. The guy wasn't merely a talk show host, he was a carnival barker, a comedian in the style of Henny Youngman and Jackie Mason and a man who studied botany and epidemiology and spoke to the politics of the day through this lens in his minds eye. This made for some innovative and spirited monologues that earned him an reputation as an extreme right-wing talk host, yet his style for me has been more of an iconoclast rather than an idealogue. I enjoy his stories and the way he incorporates the lessons he learned in his own life to the situations of the day and who can't help but identify with lessons learned in childhood? When he spoke of his adventures and mis-adventures, it recalled my own memories of such experiences and often found myself laughing uncontrollably as I listened. I disagreed sometimes, and he often made me mad as hell, but he always made me think. Sure, he rightly criticizes Obama for his ventures into national insanity, but he also criticized Bush with an equal amount of energy for his mistakes. Michael Savage is an important cog in the wheel of political debate and while his style can be flawed at times, I'll be the first to rally to his
cause. But, bottom line, I won't listen to the "two talking squirrels", John and Ken. They're pretty much pablum radio to me, so sayonara, KNEW. Oh, watch out out, with your new program schedule, your new new call letter may soon be: KPEW!

I'd like to thank you (not) once again for ruining my afternoon commute by getting rid of Savage. Needless to say I'm still not listening to the two mannequins from LA you hired to replace the good Doctor. How's that working out for you, ratings-wise, hmmmm?

To all the naysayers out there, that are so vitriolic about any host, or schedule change. KNEW was a Country Music station for about 25 years, and when they went to a different format, people were sure that they would NEVER listen to the station again.. They got over it, as should any simple-minded person would do.
AM radio, is never static, unless there is dead air, but that is a different definition of the word..
Get over it, I can still listen to Savage, anytime, so what?
Just because a radio station goes with it's top-rated show format (Armstrong & Getty), doesn't mean that they have been taken over by the Politburo..
Get a clue, and check yourselves..

I wanna thank KNEW for introducing me to some great shows. Savage...Jerry Doyle...Dennis Miller...Roger Hedgecock. I listen to bits of all of them. Mostly on the nternet now. But if KNEW hadn't of carried them...I wouldn't have been exposed to them. So thank you for that. And good luck in your new adventure.
